The Nova family of tables is proof that a change in finish can bring a significant change in personality for a piece of furniture. The console table above, shown with the Gallant sofa, in a walnut finish on the wood and satin brass finish on the metal is warmly wonderful; while the coffee table, shown below with the Urbano sectional, is seriously chic in an antique driftwood gray finish on the wood and champagne finish on the metal.
Both pieces have a studied architectonic feel thanks to the simplicity of every move Jessica Holmstrom, who designed them, made: from the restrained outline of the soft-close knife-edge drawer to the straightforward shapes of the legs that rise to embrace its top. We feel these design notes bring the piece an uptick in style.
About her inspiration when she was designing these tables, Jessica says, “I envisioned robust, transitional pieces that would combine the softness and warmth of wood grain with the strong, stoic feel of solid metal. That’s why I designed wide, bold legs so that they would create a perfect balance and not overpower the wood. I also wanted it to lean more modern, therefore this collection showcases sharp corners, and knife edge drawers.”
